Making cheap things look good...

Classy little print...from Store 21...!
Add angel from samuels and some roses frm the garden centre...

a poster from a supermarket in France (means Bass) with a shell off the beach in Spain...

Not Borth...but Ikea with Gisella Graham Hut to hide the nail...ehem...

Ok, this is special...a heart from ? an old braclet, but a fab print from Muriel Delahye called Fisherman's Daughter...love her stuff and even have an original....
as I live in Sunny West Wales...there is little opportunity for choice...for sure, the cute Polly's, Ian Snow and Broc y Mor do do their job, as do Laura Ashley but in all fairness, we do not get the same range/quality as elsewhere....In my world, I like to take things from a "scanty" (Welsh word for crap....) shop and place them in a situation where you could be confused...are they from "white stuff", "Heals" or "John Lewis"...!! I love the fact that shops copy from great designers, and I love even more, great design, without having to pay for the label (PS, I will be adding to this list...) x

Woodchip

Present from Bratislava

near enough every door in the house has a heart on it - this one is from Melin Tregwynt
Majorly hate woodchip paper, and typically, there is a lot of it in the house. Ideally, one would strip the whole lot off - but have you ever tried to do this??! Anyway, until we can sell the old house, put central heating/windows and a new roof on this one...there seems little point in doing "decorating". However, I cannot stop myself putting "bits" around the house - and my favourite thing is hearts............

Making a "corner"

What I really like - in the house or in the garden - is a small "corner" which catches your eye. Ideally, for me at least, it must have 3 items (although I have been known to be quite contrary on this....). These items can compliment, echo or clash, but the whole effect should be to draw your eye to that corner. You know when it has worked - firstly, because you pause, maybe tilt your head and then think, yes, I like that - but more importantly, it happens when other people pause, stop talking and just look at things. Personally, I love this. Life is so busy, it is nice to be able to stop, stare, and appreciate. Enjoy your items - I am going to post one or two now (and hope that fellow bloggers can help show me how to add items at a later date...) - this is because I love my house, but rarely photograph it...and I am only doing this blog as my New Year's resolution...so need to take more photos!

Lovely Birds from iittala x Toikka

and the best bargain is the mirror jewelery case  - from the designer , Matt Alan....ahem..

New Years Resolutions

Inspired by friends and family who are nagging me to open a shop or be a designer, I have decided that the first small step is to set up this blog page with views on my house and things that I love. Hoping for mainly pictures for you to enjoy and maybe, just maybe...be inspired by....
